Experienced Diesel Mechanic

Job Summary:
Positions for Diesel Mechanic (experienced) aka Service Technician – responsible for trouble shooting and repairing trenching equipment, boring equipment, service trucks, haul trucks and trailers,  including:

  • Hydraulic systems, including; pumps, motors, hydraulic components,
  • Air conditioning systems,
  • Mechanical components, including; digging drive components, undercarriage, and conveyor system.
  • Electrical systems
  • Engine components
  • Trailer and air brake systems

Duties & Responsibilities:
Technician is responsible for completing all service reports after the completion of a repair, to include the unit, the serial number, engine hours, and details of repairs made, with listing of parts used to complete repair.

Job responsibilities’ to include;

  • Maintain drivers log book, and performing pre trip inspections
  • Return unused parts in clean condition,
  • Keep the service truck clean and in good working order,
  • Clean work area during and upon  the completion of a repair,
  • Empty waste oil and filters into proper receptacle, and clean that area
  • Complete work orders after completing maintenance work.
  • Turn work orders into Service Department manager and discuss any additional work required on the machinery or truck.
  • Maintain all working tools and hand tools in good working condition.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures;
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.


  • High School diploma or GED required;
  • Knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulics; electronics; and proper means and methods used in making repairs and maintenance.
  • Skill in the use of hand tools and mechanical tools;
  • Excellent skills in communicating with other employees and customers;
  • Self starter.
  • Welling to learn.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to drive for extended periods of time.

Working conditions:

  • Position is Full-Time;
  • Working hours – whatever it takes to get the job done;
  • Travel to company jobsites is expected.
